Couples Therapy
I provide couples therapy through assisting clients in identifying individual characteristics, experiences and approaches to better understand how these factors contribute to their partnership. As individuals, we possess traditions, practices, and norms that have been instilled in us over the course of our lives. These are special components as they make us who were are. While our uniqueness and ability to take up space in the world is gives us identity, we can face challenges as we begin to form intimate partnerships.
Intimate partnerships require us to take parts of ourselves that makes us unique and exist in a space with another individual who holds his/her own uniqueness. Additionally, blending family systems together can be challenging as we adapt our traditions and family norms and attempt to mesh those with the family system of our partners.
Relationships can experience challenges at various stages. Couples counseling helps improve communication, strengthen connection, resolve conflict, and foster healthier relationship patterns.
